In my personal work "Twins", I wanted to bring together artists, models, queers, and lovers in Berlin to create analog portraits.
Searching for your twin and exploring the connections and similarities between individuals motivated me to produce this shoot.

My project is referring to twins who are not biological, it usually means individuals who are not related by genetics but share a deep bond or resemblance in some way. In these non-biological contexts, the term "twins" is more metaphorical, emphasizing the strong bond, connection, or resemblance between individuals rather than a genetic relationship. It reflects the idea that individuals can have profound connections and similarities that go beyond biological factors. In the times of hyper individualism, we are hungry for communities, bonds and exploration of different ways of coming together.
By pairing people from different backgrounds and encouraging them to collaborate in creating analog portraits, I wanted to build an opportunity for meaningful connections and artistic exploration. My goal was to provide a platform for diverse perspectives and expressions, allowing participants to explore their identities and relationships through a shared artistic medium.

Furthermore, using a medium such as analog photography, was to embrace a traditional and tactile artistic approach, which can bring a sense of intimacy and authenticity to the project. Captured in front of a black curtain, we might ask whether they were performing just before the taken shot, did they come back from the catwalk, or is it a Kiki ball? These are just a few possibilities, and the actual context and intentions of my project may vary. The black curtain backdrop creates an atmosphere that sparks curiosity and invites viewers to imagine the stories and experiences behind the portraits.
The process of capturing and preserving these moments on medium format film adds another layer of depth to the overall experience.
